The International Elections Have Ended

The International Elections concluded on November 17, 2016. Thank you to all the members who voted. On behalf of myself and the executive board, I’d like to congratulate Jim Hoffa Hall Slate on another 5-year term.

Randy Doner,
President, Teamsters 230

I would like to thank the new members of local 230 for their strong support during the lengthy certification and bargaining for a new agreement. It was a hard fought battle to get a new agreement even to the extent the employer went to the OLRB and requested they conduct a vote on their final offer which the Union did not support and was turned down by a significant number by the members. It is because of the members trust in Local 230 to get the job done that ended up in a ratification of the first agreement. With the employer Canada Cartage Systems Limited Partnership. The vote was held on Sunday November 13, 2016 with a full recommendation of the committee.

I again would like to thank all the members for the support and the negotiating committee Roy, Mike, Ken and Luis. It is very rewarding when it all comes together and no strike was needed. There will be an adjustment for both parties to get use to the operation of the agreement but I am confident the issues will be resolved to the best interest of all.

On behalf of the executive board business agents and staff welcome to the Teamsters Union Local 230.

Randy Doner,
