Markham park to be named after CTV News icon Lloyd Robertson

You’ve seen him countless times on TV and trusted him to bring you the latest news of the day for decades.

Now you can stroll and play in a park named in honour of Canadian news icon Lloyd Robertson.

On Saturday, the City of Markham will open Lloyd Robertson Park to pay tribute to the man from Markham who has come into our homes for more than five decades to explain to us what’s going on in the world.

Robertson joined CTV in 1976 and held the title of CTV chief anchor and senior editor from 1983 until he stepped down from that role in 2011. He became a Member of the Order of Canada in 1998 and was the first journalist inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2007.
